This blog will show our backyard project adventures. We built our home 27 years ago. Since that time we have never stopped working on making on improvement. Either inside or out, something is always beckoning for our attention.
This summer over the 4th of July holiday given we couldn't go anywhere due to COVID we decided to tackle the pool yard landscape that has been neglected for many years. Overgrown and out of control the challenge was no small task. We laid out the plan to create the new and improved backyard in an English garden inspired design.
This was a way bigger area than we originally estimated. Pictures below show we had to begin somewhere, stone herb garden is step one. The yard needed all the stones removed. Wow, we needed to get about 4” of stone out of this area to level out the space. Over 40 wheelbarrows of stone and dirt needed to be moved out.
This crab apple has been cut down multiple times and yet it was a huge struggle to pull out! Oh my goodness, finally pulled the crabapple out. It still had the caging from when it was planted 25 years ago!
Most of the removal of over grown plants, done.
The supervisor, "Prince" is enjoying the dirt piles. So much more to do, I'll be back throughout the summer with updates.
